This angel is an original, one of a kind, art doll.
Her head is sculpted from polymer clay. Her "halo" is a broach from my grandmother's
jewelry box. She wears boughs of knitted, then felted, wool yarn covered with
mosaic pieced quilting, trimmed in satin. Peace in many languages is written on the
garland surrounding her. The brass ornaments were a gift to our family 25 or so
years ago, and have graced many of our trees. When the 12th asked for them, she
became the Twelve Days of Christmas Tree Angel.
Her armature, or internal structure, is wood, and wire. Her base plate is
stainless steel. She is 19 inches tall, 14 inches wide, 9 inches deep and
weighs 3 pounds.
