This angel is an original, one of a kind, art doll.
The 20th Peace Angel - Holding the Book of Hope was created for the
Central New York Doll is Art Guild 2006 challenge.
We were given a packet of cloth, various trims, beads and odd bits. The items could
be altered, but they all had to be used. I added teal felted wool and gold upholstery
trim. Everything else came from the challenge packet.
Often the hardest part of a design is the placement of all the peace words. That
determination for this sculpture was easy. A 4 inch blue stick, a short length of
gold wire and a piece of green paper transformed into a book and the angel was born.
This angel's face is sculpted from polymer clay. Her armature, or internal structure
is steel brake line, wire and wood. She is 22 inches tall, 10 inches wide, 10 inches
deep and weighs 2.5 pounds.
